After each ride, we compare your GPS data with professional cyclists' publicly available Strava activities from the same day. We use a spatiotemporal algorithm to find points where you were within 20 meters and 60 seconds of a pro, and identify stretches of road you both rode.
We monitor over 100 professional cyclists who are active in Europe, primarily those who train in the Côte d'Azur region. The list is updated regularly.
You can disconnect from the Settings page. You can also revoke access directly in your Strava connected apps settings. Either method permanently deletes all your data from our system.
Disconnecting your account automatically deletes all your data — activities, GPS streams, crossing events, and OAuth tokens. If you need a data export before deletion, contact us by email.
Crossings are detected automatically after your ride is uploaded to Strava. Pro cyclist data is scanned once daily in the evening (19:00 CET). If you rode today, check back tomorrow.
Crossing detection currently works for rides in Europe. We focus on the Côte d'Azur area (Nice, Monaco, surrounding mountains) where many pros train, but detection covers all of Europe.
